I've been a fan of Social D for many, many years. They have consistently been one of the best live acts I've seen, and I've probably seen them 25 times. Unfortunately during their last concert at Avalon in Hollywood, not only did their new material not measure up but I had to listen to Mike Ness' political commentary. I'll never ask President Bush to sing, and I am not interested in having someone with a high school education and no understanding of economics or foreign policy impart his ignorant viewpoint when I'm paying to be entertained. To all "politically minded" musicians: "SHUT UP AND SING!"

Whenever I see a comment like that from the media or people in general I just chalk it up to being a dumb fuck. Music is and always has been a format for expressing ones views, and punk music in particular. Actors however.... [img]graemlins/shhh.gif[/img]

There are a lot of dumb fucks out there in the world... but there are people with the capability to "self educate" out there through life experience and just observing how things work, this is especially true with politics. I don't know why people can't have any respect for this... and like i've said time and time again...

If you pay an artist to go see their show... you are going to go see what they have to say...its their right. If you can listen to lyrics, you can listen to social commentary... you should EXPECT it... ESPECIALLY during this era.
